Sherrill came to visit us for a week and we got in some serious Kaydee and Johnnie time. We loved having her here to visit with us.

Labor Day in Pismo Beach

W

We took the fifth wheel to Santa Maria for the Labor Day holiday weekend and Brent and Bobbye came over and spent a couple of days with the Peterson's, Holloways and us. We had a great time at Montona De Oro and morro Bay and on the pier in Pismo Beach. Love the hats Ben and Brent! We didn't want to come home.

Hangin with Kelli

When we got back to Provo with Kelli, we walked around Temple Square and took in the beauty. We loved spending time with our Kelli.

Hangin with the Hoggan's

We went to visit Kelli for the weekend in Provo and drove the extra 2 hours and stayed with the Hoggan's for a couple of days in Kemmerer Wyoming. We had a great time in Bear Lake, had raspberry shakes and went to the Pickleville Playhouse and saw The Hanging of El Bandito. Which was hilarious by the way. We laughed ourselves silly, then ate outstanding BBQ and got a scenic view of Logan Canyon. Thank you Brian and Janel for the wonderful time.

And Then There Was Grass!!

We finally were able to get our sod in our backyard out behind our bedroom window. What a difference the dust will be in our room. Ben and Brad helped Papa celebrate the new sod. Cody our cat wanted in on it too. High Fives Papa, Nicholas and Shawn for the great job.

We are in the process of putting grass in the corner of our back yard and Benjamin got to help Papa hook up the new sprinklers and backfill the holes. He was a big help and he loved to follow Papa all over the back yard.

On the way to Queen's Bath

We took an interesting hike today.
Along some slippery tree roots and muddy trails. We crossed lava rocks and finally made it to Queen's Bath which is really cool. A harrowing experience in all but worth it.

Little Johnny is here

We caught Little Johnny wide awake and squirming. He is 9lbs 1 oz and has had some tough breaks already. He had some fluid in his lungs when he was born so they sent him to the NICU. That's why he is hooked up to lots of things. Then they found a problem with an artery to his heart. He is in Sunrise Children's Hospital now and is stable and healthy. The team of cardiac doctors are going to pow wow tomorrow night and decide when he will have surgery to fix his problem. Will keep everyone posted.

RELAXING IN PISMO BEACH

We actually got to spend the weekend in Pismo Beach this last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. My sister Lori and her husband Bill went with us and Kelli. Lori and Kelli were in the shopping spirit and Kelli got hungry. Notice my colorful purple lip? This is what you get when you go up against an 18 volt power drill and it wins. See if I ever help set up the back stabilizers on the fifth wheel again. OUCH!!!!! We had a great time despite the color purple and made family memories for a lifetime.

Mommy Loves Kelli

Small Glimmers of Hope

Kelli has been through more than a 22 year old should ever have to go through. Tuesday night Kelli had a drug reaction to her nausea medicine. We thought she was having a stroke. Scared all three of us, but for 3 1/2 hours we were in a panic. Heavenly Father sent us an angel at 12:00 midnight when a doctor that does her rounds late at night knew exactly what was happening and all she needed was Benadryl. Within 15 seconds Kelli was back. I think Michael and I lost 10 years each in worry. She is doing much better. Last Monday we thought she was going to have to do surgery #3, but they decided to try a suction tube in her stomach, and that seemed to drain a lot of the fluid they were worried about. Today they removed the stomach drain. She is unhooked from all the many Iv's finally and after a 30 pound weight loss, she is within 24 to 48 hours of being sprung. Hopefully soon.......

Major Setback

I just got home from the hospital tonight where Kelli had to have another major surgery. She had an abcess and fluid that was leaking in her stomach, so they had to go back in and repair it. 3 hours later and a lot of anxiety, she has stayed in there like a trooper. I cannot express how brave she is right now. She is back at square one with the pain. Now we can begin again. Please keep her in your prayers as she needs pain relief so bad. Thank you for all of your support.

Small Setback

Kelli had to visit the emergency room in Tehachapi yesterday. After some testing they decided she was dehydrated and needed further evaluation in Bakersfield. she was shipped back to Memorial hospital early this morning, when the road opened from snow and ice and is once again living the high life of getting waited on hand and foot. Hopefully she will be able to come home in a couple of days.

Our Kelli is Home!!!

Hey everyone, our Kelli is home. Bobbye went to stay with her today and was able to bring her home. Boy was she glad to get out of the hospital. Turns out the doctor informed us the tumor was 10 pounds not 7. She was the proud owner of 43 staples. Now she just wants the pain killers and family company. The nurses and helpers were awesome that took care of her and now its our turn. We appreciate all of your help and prayers. A humble thank you doesn't seem like enough, but Thanks.

Kelli is Better Every Day

Kelli is progressing more and more. Hopefully tomorrow she can start eating food again. Soft foods of course. She had a lot of company today and she was very tired by late afternoon. She still needs her pain medications and is getting up and walking more and more. Her hospital room is starting to look like a florist. We appreciate so much the love and calls and notes everyone is sending. Hopefully she will be home next week. Who knows.

Kelli Update

We found out today that the tumor that was removed had no trace of cancer in it. Good news and a productive day for Kelli. She was able to get up 5 times today. She is still in a considerable amount of pain, but getting stronger. She is still exhausted when she gets back in bed and is very sore. We'll keep you posted.

Kelli is Hangin In There

Thanks to everyone who is thinking of and praying for Kelli. She is so brave, and she amazes me with the strength and perseverance she possesses. Kelli will be in the hospital for a week and she is hanging in there. She is in a lot of pain, but she keeps her sense of humor as best as she can. Will update you as I can. The tumor that was taken out was 7 pounds.

Grandchildren and Daughter Time

Michael and I have had a busy month with our daughters and our grandchildren. Benjamin loves to watch a movie with Grandpa, and Kaydence loves to chatter on and on and on. Bradley is the quiet one who loves to coo and talk in giberish. It was great to have Sherrill with us for awhile, and Kelli celebrated the new 2009 year with us on New Year's Eve. We will welcome our new grandson hopefully April 30th of this year (Sherrill). We'll see how that schedule works out. We love our life and our family and friends so much and feel richly blessed by all of you.
